Living in the countryside in a historic mill in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

10 km north of Güstrow and only 15 min from the A19 junction Schwaan is the former water mill Neu Mühle. Rostock, respectively the Baltic Sea can be reached in 30 min. The village Neu Mühle consists of only 2 building complexes in complete rural tranquility.

The mill at the Hohen Sprenzer Mühlbach was originally landed and leased to the respective miller. In the course of melioration, the mill stream was moved a few meters to the north and the mill was electrified. It was in operation during the GDR period until the 1990s and, surprisingly, is still fully functional today.

After a fire, the present mill building was erected in 1926. The building complex consists of the 3-story actual mill building with a 2-story residential part. A one-story annex (the former bakery) is reached through a passageway.

The largest building in terms of space is the large barn/hall from which the grain was originally transported to the mill by pipeline. A stable building and another annex complete the ensemble. A large garden with various fruit trees is adjacent to the mill stream. The buildings are in a relatively good condition.

The whole property is due to its large living space, which is still substantially expandable by development of the actual mill part and the large outbuildings, excellently suitable for the construction of a new existence in the countryside. The quiet and remote location in combination with the proximity to the Baltic Sea and the city of Rostock are certainly advantageous.
