Former Grand Hotel Harzburger Hof

A photo from the series "Lost monuments". The Harzburger Hof was located in Bad Harzburg and shaped the cure business in the small spa town for over 100 years. It was a spacious and noble hotel, mainly addressed to higher social classes and went bankrupt at the end of the 80ies. In recent years it became a well known spot of the lostplaces movement. Subsequently the historic building burnt several times and got in a bad state quickly. It could not be saved and was finally demolished in 2017.

At present there a plans to put up a new hotel according to the model of the old building. The photo shows the main facade with the entrance in summer 2008.
