Magnate residences in southeastern Poland: Lubartów

The town of Lubartów is located in the southeast of Poland in the historical region of Małopolska and the present Lublin Voivodeship. The castle of the Lubomirski family, along with the Baroque church "Bazylika św. Anny", is one of the central cultural monuments of the city. The original design goes back to Tylman van Gameren. In the 18th century, the Sanguszko family began the reconstruction into a residence in classicist baroque style, which resulted in a third floor and a representative courtyard facade with a portico. At the beginning of the 1930s the palace was completely destroyed by fire and was rebuilt in several stages only after the Second World War. Since the 70s it has been the seat of the Lubartów City Council.

At a distance of about 9 km you can find the castle and park of the Zamoyski family in Kozłówka (Pałac w Kozłówce), another magnate's residence in Lublin, which is also one of the tourist attractions of the region.
